Peter Capaldi May Yet Remain As The Doctor – “I’ve Been Asked To Stay”

When Steven Moffat announced he was stepping down as showrunner for Doctor Who, many believed that it was inevitable Peter Capaldi would follow him out the exit. With Chris Chibnall looking to start his own reign off with a bang; it seemed sensible to expect the current Doctor to move aside to let the show take a new direction. Now however it seems Capaldi may not be ready to say goodbye to the Tardis just yet.

Speaking with the RadioTimes, Capaldi said;

“I’ve been asked to stay on… but it’s such a long time before I have to make that decision.

“Steven’s been absolutely wonderful, so I love working with him. Chris is fantastic, and I think he’s a hugely talented guy.

“I don’t know where the show’s gonna go then. I don’t know. I have to make up my mind, and I haven’t yet.”

“As Steven will tell you, it’s very difficult to say goodbye.”
This is huge news for fans of the current Doctor – who assumed that his days at the helm of the Tardis were now numbered. To see Capaldi continue would be a great move in our eyes and certainly one we’d encourage the show to take.
What do you guys think? Do you want to see Capaldi stay on as The Doctor?
